Welcome to the Compelev API, Connecting merchants to reduce friendly fraud and reclaim lost revenue.

The CompelEv API is a powerful tool that allows merchants to share disputes data and detect friendly fraud. More importantly, it provides multiple forms of compelling evidence collection. Compelling evidence is the process of collecting digital forensics capable of demonstrating connection between the consumer and transaction. This can help merchants to:

  • Reduce their friendly fraud losses
  • Improve their dispute resolution rates
  • Increase their revenue
  • Prevent repeat offenders

Key Features of the API:

  • Data sharing: Merchants can easily share disputes data with other merchants on the consortium. Compelev integrates with just a clicks to major payment gateways to receive Webhook notification when a dispute, or return takes place. The data is used to identify patterns and trends that may indicate friendly fraud.
  • Friendly fraud detection: The API uses sophisticated machine learning algorithms to detect friendly fraud. These algorithms are constantly being updated to ensure that they are as accurate as possible.
  • Compelling evidence collection: A set of consumer interactions that can be invoked to create a digital forensic collection event to associate the transaction with the end consumer.
  • Reporting and analytics: The API provides merchants with detailed reports on their friendly fraud activity. These reports can help merchants to identify trends and take steps to prevent friendly fraud and generate compelling evidence to win illegitimate disputes.

Getting Started

To get started with the Compelev API, you will need to create a Compelev account. Once you have an account, you can either:

  • Setup Webhooks to send events to your unique Compelev endpoint
  • Use the automated setup by providing an API key from your merchant account and we’ll programmatically set the Webhooks.
